Lloyd Doggett, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 37th district, has expressed concerns over recent political developments involving former President Donald Trump. On March 15, 2025, Doggett took to social media to address issues ranging from international relations to domestic institutional impacts.

In his first post of the day, Doggett highlighted the potential strain on U.S.-Canada relations due to Trump's remarks and trade policies. He stated: "Our important relationship with our friend and ally Canada is endangered by Trump's troubling rhetoric about it becoming a US state while imposing outrageous tariffs." He also noted the cancellation of Canada House at SXSW as a consequence of these tensions.

Later that afternoon, Doggett criticized Trump's influence on bipartisan-supported institutions. He remarked: "Trump, enabled by House Republicans, continues to wreck a broad range of institutions that formerly enjoyed bipartisan support to fight communist propaganda, combat homelessness, and promote learning like the Institute of Museum and Library Services."

In an evening tweet, Doggett accused Trump of compromising national security by terminating Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFERL), which he claims benefits adversarial nations. He tweeted: "Trump continues serving Putin by terminating @RFERL, which has enjoyed bipartisan support in serving our country for decades. Trump’s action delivers a gift to Iran and China. He’s undermining our national security, one outrageous blow after another."
