Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district since 2023, has been vocal on social media about recent legislative developments. Born in Houston in 1989 and currently residing in Austin, Casar is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

On March 13, 2025, Congressman Casar expressed his opposition to what he described as the "Trump-Musk slash-and-burn Republican plan." He stated that no Democrat should allow this plan to pass and voiced his support for a four-week funding extension that would protect working people from harmful cuts. Casar emphasized his readiness to vote at any time to ensure the passage of this extension. "No Democrat should allow the Trump-Musk slash-and-burn Republican plan to pass."

Later that day, Casar commented on Senate Democrats' approach towards the Trump-Musk funding bill. He warned against pretending to oppose it only to later agree quietly with its provisions. According to him, voting for cloture on such a bill equates to allowing Musk and Trump to exploit taxpayers. "Some Senate Democrats are being tempted to pretend to fight the Trump-Musk funding bill today..."

On March 14, 2025, Congressman Casar paid tribute to Raúl Grijalva, acknowledging him as a significant figure in both the House and progressive movement. He described Grijalva as a mentor and friend while expressing condolences over his passing. "Raúl Grijalva was a giant of the House and of the progressive movement."
