Greg Casar, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 35th district, has been vocal on social media regarding recent events involving Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump. Through a series of tweets, Casar has raised concerns about labor practices and potential corruption.
On March 6, 2025, Casar addressed the federal government's findings on Elon Musk's Austin factory. He stated that "The federal government has determined that Elon Musk’s Austin factory broke the law with its dangerous working conditions. Two workers have been killed working there in the last few years." He demanded answers from Trump's Labor Department and noted that they had released significant details regarding these issues.
The following day, on March 7, 2025, Casar turned his attention to campaign financing within the cryptocurrency industry. He tweeted that "The crypto industry gave Trump millions of dollars through campaign donations, super PACs, inauguration fundraising, & more." Casar expressed skepticism over Trump's intention to create a crypto "strategic reserve," suggesting it was not about cryptocurrency but rather corruption.
Later on March 7, 2025, Casar commented on safety concerns related to air travel and Elon Musk's ventures. He quoted an unnamed Secretary of Transportation under Trump who purportedly said “I have multiple plane crashes to deal with now, and your people want me to fire air traffic controllers?” Casar alleged that even Trump's own administration acknowledged risks associated with Musk's DOGE initiative.
