Today, Congressman Tony Gonzales from Texas' 23rd District released a statement in response to President Donald Trump's joint address to Congress on March 4, 2025. In his statement, Gonzales reflected on the message sent by voters during the November 5, 2024 elections.
"On November 5, 2024, Americans sent an overwhelming message to Washington—enough is enough," Gonzales stated. He highlighted the impact of previous administration policies on his district, particularly concerning border issues. "In my district, we know all too well the damage caused by the Biden administration’s policies, especially at the border."
Gonzales praised President Trump for taking immediate action upon assuming office. "Within hours of taking office, President Trump took action. He declared drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, ended catch-and-release policies, and drove down illegal border crossings to new lows," he noted.
The congressman concluded with a positive outlook on America's future under Trump's leadership. "President Trump delivered a clear message tonight—America will continue to move full-speed ahead toward a future that puts our safety and prosperity first."
