Enrollment Analysis: American Indian students comprised 0.5% of School of Science and Technology District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 21 American Indian students enrolled in the School of Science and Technology District in the 2022-23 school year, 38.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that the School of Science and Technology District welcomed 4,315 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.5% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

The School of Science and Technology District roughly covers schools within Bexar County and has a main office in San Antonio.

Among the seven schools in the School of Science and Technology District, School of Science and Technology Champions recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of nine students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
