Brooks Academies Of Texas issued the following announcement on June 10
A message from our Superintendent and Board Chair:
As we bring another school year to a close, we have much to be proud of. This year we graduated our first class from Brooks Collegiate Academy. We opened our brand-new campus, Brooks Lone Star. Our smooth transition to remote, live learning after the COVID-19 closures allowed over 3,000 students continued access to a complete educational experience.
We thank our students, teachers, staff and families for their hard work and support during the most difficult of times. It is an honor to serve the Brooks community of schools and students. We work hard to fulfill our mission to develop accountable, global learners in a safe and enriching environment.
Brooks schools serve a dynamic and diverse student population. We reject bigotry, racism, and injustice of any kind. We will continue to take steps toward ensuring that all our students, families and staff members are treated equally and compassionately.
We want to keep open lines of communication with our Brooks Family. We are here if you need us. One step we have taken is to have our counselors and social workers available to families throughout the summer. Anyone who wants help, or just someone to talk to, should email CounselorChat@brooksacademy.org. One of our counselors will contact you.
Next year we will implement a new Social Emotional Learning Program at our schools. The program will offer mindfulness, positive behavior supports, and more. We will always work toward getting better at our fulfilling our mission.
