Energy and Water Appropriations Bill Advanced by Gonzales Includes Support for Oil and Gas Industry
Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, voted to advance the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations bill. The legislation included language to prohibit previously allocated funding to the Department of Energy (DOE) to push electric vehicles onto the American consumer and a provision to prohibit the DOE from implementing policies that would prevent Americans from owning gas-powered ovens and stoves.

On June 14, Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, voted to advance the FY24 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill. The funding package includes $7 million in Community Project Funding spanning across South and West Texas and over $25 billion in funding that will aid landowners, ranchers, and rural communities across Texas’ 23rd Congressional District and the nation. Congressman Gonzales secured an amendment in the legislation to direct the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to reimburse landowners across the southern border for property damages relating to illegal migrant trespassing.

On June 13, Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, voted to advance the FY24 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill. Funding included in the legislation would span across Texas’ 23rd Congressional District from San Antonio to El Paso. The funding package includes $20 million to complete a child development center at JBSA-Lackland Air Base and $74 million to construct a new rail yard at Fort Bliss. These investments are essential for maintaining the resiliency of our military supply chains and taking care of our military families.
