Lloyd Doggett, a seasoned member of the U.S. Congress from Texas, utilized his social media platform to express firm opposition against current policies proposed by political figures including Texas Governor Abbott, former President Trump, and Republican Party affiliates. Doggett, representing Texas' 37th district since 1995, has a long-standing involvement in U.S. politics, beginning with his service in the Texas Senate from 1973 to 1985 and continuing after earning his JD from the University of Texas at Austin.

On April 5, 2025, Doggett voiced his concerns regarding the impact of educational policies advocated by Governor Abbott and allies. He asserts, “I joined dedicated Central Texans in sending a clear message to Gov. Abbott, Trump and GOP enablers: With so much at stake, we won't stay silent as they wreck our public schools with vouchers and tax credits to shift public resources into private academies and dismantle federal…”.

Two days later, on April 7, Doggett highlighted economic concerns, focusing on the consequences of past administration policies under President Trump on small businesses. He mentioned that “Even the cost of toys will soar because of Donald Trump. As UT Professor Suri indicates, small businesses in Austin and around the country will be hit the hardest.”

Later that day, Doggett criticized the apparent disconnect between Trump's personal activities and the potential global economic impacts orchestrated by previous decisions. He remarked, “As Trump and his GOP enablers drive the world economy into the ditch, teeing up the largest market crash since COVID, out of touch and oblivious Trump brags about his weekend golf “win” at his own tournament.”
