Lloyd Doggett, a long-standing member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 37th District, recently addressed several political topics through his social media presence. Doggett, who has served in Congress since 1995, shared his perspective on current issues concerning proxy voting, a Senator's prolonged speech, and a significant electoral outcome in Wisconsin.

On April 1, 2025, Doggett highlighted a contentious issue concerning Speaker Johnson and proxy voting. He stated, "Speaker Johnson claims proxy voting is unconstitutional. He's done it 39 times. Now, he's embarrassed that nine Republicans joined all Democrats to allow new moms and fathers to vote by proxy. His response? Throw a fit and cancel votes for the week."

The following day, April 2, 2025, Doggett praised Senator Cory Booker for his extended speech defending democratic values. He noted, "After 25 hours and 5 minutes, Senator Cory Booker concluded his historic speech defending our democratic values and the health and wellbeing of the American people. After surpassing the racist legacy of Strom Thurmond’s speech against the Civil Rights Act, Senator Booker."

Later that day, Doggett celebrated a political victory in Wisconsin, remarking on the integrity of the democratic process. He expressed, "Elon Musk may think democracy is for sale, but the people of Wisconsin would not be bought. An important victory in our ongoing effort to protect our democracy from the forces of fascism."
