On February 20, 2025, Doggett criticized the Republican Party for their stance on the national debt. He argued that despite their expressed concern about the growing debt, they are "determined to make it trillions of dollars worse" by pursuing tax breaks for wealthy individuals linked to former President Trump. Doggett warned that this approach threatens the future of key social programs like Social Security and Medicare. "GOP concerned about soaring national debt, they’re determined to make it trillions of dollars worse."

Later that day, he addressed foreign policy issues in another tweet. Doggett accused Trump of appeasing a murderer while blaming the victim's leader and criticized the GOP for their silence and lack of action on the matter. He described this inaction as complicity with Trump's actions. "As Trump appeases a murderer and blames the leader of the murdered, GOP inaction and silence is complicity."

In a subsequent post on February 21, 2025, Doggett shifted focus to aviation safety concerns amid staffing challenges at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He criticized DOGE’s inefficiency and expressed alarm over potential risks from an understaffed FAA under Trump's administration alongside Elon Musk's influence. He cautioned that such circumstances could lead to more aircraft disasters if not addressed properly. "Air traffic controllers are already understaffed and overwhelmed."
