On Thursday, Congressman Tony Gonzales visited the U.S. Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez. Representing Texas's 23rd congressional district, which includes the greater El Paso region, Gonzales engaged with U.S. officials to discuss operations concerning cartel and transnational criminal organizations. Additionally, he met with Mexican government officials and business leaders to address the ongoing trade partnership and border security efforts between the United States and Mexico.
"The United States and Mexico will always be neighbors and should be strong partners on security, the economy, and much more," said Congressman Tony Gonzales. "Yesterday, I met with Mexican officials, including the Mayor of Ciudad Juarez, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, and representatives from the Chihuahua state government. I am committed to finding solutions to the problems that affect us on both sides of the border. Our meetings were productive, and I look forward to continuing to build upon our shared goals wherever possible."
Gonzales also expressed gratitude towards Consul Rafael Foley for facilitating discussions with U.S. law enforcement partners, consular staff, and Mexican government officials during his visit.
