Lloyd Doggett, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 37th district, has recently voiced his concerns on social media regarding legislative proposals from House Republicans. In a series of tweets, Doggett addresses the potential impacts of these proposals on public health, taxation, and education.

On February 13, 2025, Doggett expressed concern about a proposal by House Republicans that could impact healthcare access for children in Texas. He stated: "House Republicans are proposing to deny three million Texas children access to Epi-Pens, inhalers, immunizations, and a pediatrician." He criticized the motive behind this proposal as an attempt to provide substantial tax breaks to wealthy individuals associated with former President Trump.

Later that day, Doggett tweeted about another Republican initiative concerning tax policy. He noted: "Working families should not be forced to pay for another round of Trump tax breaks for billionaires and large corporations." To counteract this proposal, he introduced an amendment aimed at safeguarding taxpayer funds and essential services such as Medicare and Social Security.

On February 14, 2025, Doggett addressed issues related to federal student aid in higher education. He mentioned that "87 million students and parents receive federal student aid to help pay for college." According to him, the "wreckonciliation" bill proposed by House Republicans threatens the Education Department's funding and assistance programs. In response, he filed an amendment intended to ensure continued support for students pursuing higher education.
