Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas' 35th district, has been vocal on social media regarding his concerns about Elon Musk's influence on government policies. In a series of tweets, Casar criticized Musk's alleged intentions and actions concerning public welfare programs and corporate accountability.

On February 11, 2025, Congressman Casar expressed his certainty that "Elon Musk is looking for an excuse to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for billionaires." He concluded the tweet with a call to action: "Fire Elon Musk."

The following day, February 12, 2025, Casar highlighted the disparity between government support received by individuals versus corporations. He stated in a tweet that "Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million," compared to "How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65." He questioned which budget Musk and former President Trump aimed to reduce.

Later that same day, Casar accused Musk of unethical practices in another tweet. He claimed "CORRUPTION: Musk is abusing his position to block investigations into his own corporations"
