Lloyd Doggett, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 37th district, recently addressed several critical issues through his social media platform. With a history in politics that spans decades, Doggett's remarks touched on federal leadership, economic policies, and state-level decisions affecting vulnerable populations.

On February 1st, 2025, Doggett highlighted concerns regarding air traffic safety in Austin and beyond. He stated that "With desperate air traffic controller needs to assure safety in Austin and elsewhere, Trump encouraged them to resign and blocked new hires." Furthermore, he criticized the lack of appointments within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), noting that Trump "failed to name an FAA Administrator, Deputy or Chief Counsel." "Only after DC mid-air collision" did actions follow.

Later on the same day, February 1st, Doggett commented on a new economic measure affecting Texans. He wrote about Trump's order imposing taxes on Mexican imports: "PAY UP! New Trump order imposes 25% tax on avocados, tomatoes." This decision was juxtaposed with Trump's recent claim promising price reductions.

Two days later, on February 3rd, Doggett turned his attention to state matters involving Governor Abbott's rejection of federal funds meant for summer meals for children. He remarked that "over 1 million Texas children suffered because Gov Abbott rejected federal dollars," highlighting the disparity where "Texans’ taxpayer dollars are keeping children in other states fed while Abbott denies the same for our kids."
