On January 28, 2025, Congressman Casar emphasized the importance of understanding constitutional rights amidst potential community raids. In a follow-up tweet on the same day, Casar clarified that his guidance was intended to inform the community rather than serve as legal advice. "Esta es una guía general para mantener informada a nuestra comunidad, no un asesoramiento legal."
Later that evening, Casar criticized former President Donald Trump for attempting to cut off Medicaid and other federal programs. He accused Trump of prioritizing tax breaks for billionaires over essential services for seniors, children, and veterans. "Trump shut off Medicaid & was forced to turn it back on... We must unite to stop Trump."
