Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas' 35th district, has been active on social media discussing significant political and economic issues. Casar, who took office in 2023 after replacing Lloyd Doggett, has been vocal about his stance on corporate mergers and the Democratic Party's leadership.

On December 11, 2024, Congressman Casar shared a link to an article by Common Dreams through a tweet stating "@USProgressives Read @CommonDreams’ full story at https://t.co/UyqaTJajaZ".

Later that day, he addressed the proposed merger between Kroger and Albertsons. In his tweet, he expressed concern over potential layoffs and increased grocery prices resulting from the merger. He credited Lina Khan of the Federal Trade Commission for successfully opposing it: "A mega-merger of Kroger and Albertsons would lay off workers and spike grocery prices. @LinaKhanFTC fought to stop the merger and WON! Democrats must stand up to special interests and corporate greed."

On December 13, 2024, Congressman Casar emphasized his support for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) as a leader within the Democratic Party. He tweeted about her potential role in holding former President Trump accountable if Democrats regain the majority: "If Democrats want to retake the majority, @RepAOC is who we want leading @OversightDems to hold Trump accountable. When Democrats retake the majority, @RepAOC is who we want chairing this key committee — holding CEOs, Wall Street, and mega-corporations accountable."
