Congressman Greg Casar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 35th district, has recently addressed several issues through his social media posts. Casar, who succeeded Lloyd Doggett in 2023, expressed concerns over international and domestic matters in a series of tweets.
On November 26, 2024, Congressman Casar commented on the situation in Pakistan: "Thousands of Pakistanis are protesting for democracy & are being met with violent repression. I am hearing reports that the government is using live fire & tear gas against protesters." He condemned the violence and urged the Pakistani government to allow peaceful protests.
The following day, on November 27, 2024, Casar highlighted a local initiative in Texas regarding gun safety: "Last weekend, @COSAgov hosted an event where more than 500 firearms were exchanged for H-E-B gift cards!" He emphasized the importance of community efforts to protect citizens until Congress enacts comprehensive gun safety legislation.
Later that day, he criticized Elon Musk's stance on consumer protection: "This Thanksgiving, Elon Musk is grateful for the chance to take more of your money for himself & his friends." Casar accused Musk of wanting to dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), which he described as an agency saving Americans billions by preventing corporate abuses.
