A Floresville man has been sentenced to 360 months in federal prison for the sexual exploitation of a seven-year-old girl. According to court documents, Rodney Allan Felux, 45, sexually assaulted and exploited the child while she attended a residential daycare in December 2022. The victim reported the incident to her mother, prompting an investigation. During a forensic interview, the victim revealed that she was blindfolded, taken to a shed, and subjected to sexual assault while Felux took explicit images of her.

Felux was arrested on January 11, 2023, and pleaded guilty in January 2024 to one count of sexual exploitation of children. In addition to the prison sentence and lifetime supervised release, U.S. District Judge Fred Biery ordered Felux to pay $50,000 restitution to the victim.

“As the court stated during the sentencing, the penalties are severe for this offense for a reason,” said U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza for the Western District of Texas. “This defendant has caused irreparable harm to this young girl based on his contemplated, planned and acted upon predatory sexual behavior.”

"This sentencing sends a clear message that we will not tolerate the sexual abuse and exploitation of children in our community," said Special Agent in Charge Aaron Tapp of the FBI's San Antonio Field Office. "The FBI, along with our law enforcement partners at the Wilson County Sheriff's office, will continue to vigorously pursue every lead to rescue children who are being victimized and bring their perpetrators to justice."

The case was investigated by both the FBI and Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Thompson prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and CEOS, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet as well as identify and rescue victims.
