Lloyd Doggett, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Texas’ 37th district, has been active in political discussions through social media, highlighting his views on recent policy changes. Doggett was born in 1946 in Austin, Texas, graduated with a BA and a JD from the University of Texas, and has served in the U.S. Congress since 1995.

On March 31, 2025, Doggett addressed forthcoming tariff changes announced by former President Donald Trump. He described the policy as contradictory, stating, "Down is up. Less is more. This is the story of 'Liberation Day' on April 2 when Trump increases tariff taxes, calling this a tax cut." Doggett highlighted the potential economic impact, noting an increase in import prices, and criticized Trump for his remark that he "couldn't care less" about the rise in car costs.

Later that day, Doggett criticized environmental policy changes by Trump's administration. He tweeted, "More cost breaks for GOP donors at the cost of our families. Trump's EPA is preparing to erase its mission and undo key air and water regulations on tailpipes and smokestacks." He expressed concern that climate regulations might be undermined, potentially affecting air and water quality, while benefitting high-income individuals.

Finally, Doggett shared a positive engagement with the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, writing, "Pleased to visit with Monica Muñoz Andry and Brittney Rodriguez from @GAHCC." He praised their efforts in enhancing economic opportunities for Hispanic entrepreneurs and supporting the Austin community.
