Lloyd Doggett, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 37th district since 1995, has taken to social media to express his views on various pressing issues. His recent tweets reflect concerns about political violence, national security, and environmental policy.
On March 25, 2025, Doggett addressed the issue of violence against Elon Musk in a tweet. While rejecting former President Trump's complaint that this violence is worse than the actions of those pardoned for the January 6 attack, he stated: "While rejecting Trump’s complaint that violence against Elon is worse than the felons he pardoned for the deadly Jan 6 attack, I strongly condemn violence/vandalism in Austin or elsewhere against Musk. This only distracts from the real harm DOGE is inflicting and the efficiency".
Later that day, Doggett criticized what he described as incompetence within Trump's administration concerning national security matters. He tweeted: "Incredible incompetence represents a growing threat to our safety. Like Trump firing those maintaining nuclear weapons safety, his “national security” team disclosing vital security information shows how little security Trump is providing." The congressman suggested that Fox News might not be an appropriate platform for Trump's policies.
In another post on March 25th, Doggett highlighted concerns about budget cuts affecting national parks under Republican leadership. He wrote: "Republicans aren't done destroying national parks w/disastrous cuts. Forced to eliminate more of its workforce, families head into a busy spring/summer period w/fewer park rangers to keep them safe & fewer janitors to maintain a clean, healthy environment."
