Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas' 35th district since 2023, recently shared a series of statements on social media expressing his views on current political and economic issues. Born in Houston, Texas, in 1989, Casar resides in Austin and graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011.
On March 24, 2025, Congressman Casar criticized the Republican stance on Medicaid cuts. He stated that "More than 70% of Republican voters oppose cuts to Medicaid. 100% of House Republicans voted to cut Medicaid. That’s not acting as representatives of the people – it’s acting like Trump-Musk employees."
Later that day, he addressed concerns about economic management by wealthy individuals throughout history. Casar tweeted that "The super rich crashed the economy in 1929. The super rich crashed the economy in 2008. Now Donald Trump is putting the super rich in charge of the entire government. It’s dangerous."
In another tweet posted on March 24, Casar highlighted an issue regarding senior citizens and their access to Social Security checks. He mentioned that "Trump says the phone lines seniors use to get their Social Security checks have to be shut down for security reasons, but his staff is planning bombing campaigns over text message."
