Lloyd Doggett discusses key issues including RFK Jr.'s nomination and aviation safety

Lloyd Doggett, a long-serving U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 37th district, recently shared his views on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. His comments touched on matters ranging from political appointments to public safety and reproductive rights.

On January 29, 2025, Doggett highlighted a letter written by Caroline Kennedy opposing the confirmation of her cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as Secretary of Health and Human Services. In the letter, Kennedy accused him of exploiting vulnerable parents while privately vaccinating his own children. "Caroline Kennedy wrote a scathing letter asking the Senate to deny her cousin, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s confirmation to become HHS Secretary. She said he 'preys on the desperation of parents of sick children – vaccinating his own kids while building a following by hypocritically…"

On January 30, 2025, Doggett expressed condolences for those affected by an aviation disaster at Washington D.C.'s Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA). He emphasized the importance of air travel safety and pledged continued advocacy for Federal Aviation Administration resources to prevent similar incidents in the future. "My heart goes out to the victims lost and families affected by the tragic mid-air catastrophe at DCA. Safety in our skies is of the utmost importance."

Later that day, Doggett criticized former President Donald Trump for allegedly extending anti-abortion policies globally after initiating such bans domestically in Texas and other states across America. "After laying the groundwork for Republican abortion bans in Texas and across the U.S., Trump is interfering with reproductive freedom across the globe."
