Lloyd Doggett, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 37th district, has recently shared his views on social media regarding actions by former President Donald Trump. His tweets address concerns about Trump's influence over federal workers and legal decisions affecting public safety.

On January 29, 2025, Doggett commented on Trump's efforts to influence federal employment. "In his latest move toward tyranny, Trump is urging millions of federal workers to give up and quit. That way he can replace some with MAGA workers and weaken or privatize public services." He expressed skepticism about Trump's legal authority in this matter.

Later that day, Doggett criticized Trump's justification for releasing individuals involved in the January 6 events. "'Very minor incidents.' That was Trump's justification for freeing 1,500+ violent Jan. 6 criminals who assaulted 140 police officers back into our communities."

Doggett also remarked on the broader implications of resisting such political maneuvers by Trump. On January 29, he stated: "Trump is backtracking because Americans fought back... We love our country too much to surrender to Trump’s descent into lawlessness and tyranny."
