Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas' 35th district, recently addressed concerns regarding immigration raids and campaign finance in a series of tweets. Casar, who succeeded Lloyd Doggett in 2023, has been vocal about his stance on these issues.
On January 20, 2025, Congressman Casar tweeted about potential immigration raids targeting San Antonio. In a subsequent tweet on the same day, he reiterated the message in English: "Media reports say San Antonio could be one of the cities targeted by Trump's immigration raids this week. No matter what, we know that: 1) You have basic rights (listed below). 2) Trump will say he's going after criminals. He's a liar. Texans need to look out for each other."
On January 21, 2025, Casar commented on the anniversary of the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision with another tweet: "Fifteen years ago today, the Supreme Court ruled that corporations & billionaires like Jeff Bezos & Elon Musk can spend infinite amounts in elections to buy influence. Citizens United must be overturned so our democracy works for working Americans, not the 1%."
