Brooks Academies of Texas School District Education: 2,540 Hispanic students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 2,540 Hispanic students enrolled in Brooks Academies of Texas School District in the 2022-23 school year, 1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Brooks Academies of Texas School District welcomed 3,097 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 82% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Brooks Academies of Texas School District roughly covers schools within Bexar County and has a main office in San Antonio.

Among the four schools in Brooks Academies of Texas School District, Brooks Academy of Science and Engineering recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 1,185 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
