There were 179 white students enrolled in the School of Excellence in Education District in the 2022-23 school year, 952.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that the School of Excellence in Education District welcomed 931 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 19.2% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

The School of Excellence in Education District roughly covers schools within Bexar County and has a main office in San Antonio.

Among the four schools in the School of Excellence in Education District, Legacy Traditional School - Walker Elementary recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 160 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
