There were 300 African American students enrolled in George Gervin Academy School District in the 2022-23 school year, 20.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that George Gervin Academy School District welcomed 689 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 43.5% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

George Gervin Academy School District roughly covers schools within Bexar County and has a main office in San Antonio.

Among the two schools in George Gervin Academy School District, George Gervin Academy recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 276 students.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
