Today, Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) led a Congressional Delegation to Eagle Pass, where they received briefings from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Border Patrol, and the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office. The delegation also had a private tour of the soft-sided migrant processing facility in Eagle Pass, which is currently holding an estimated 5,000 migrants despite being designed for only 1,000.

"Now more than ever, Congress needs to pass a strong budget that puts a stop to Biden’s open-borders agenda," emphasized Congressman Tony Gonzales. "This should not be a partisan issue. My message is clear – end catch and release, stop using asylum as a hall pass, and put our Border Patrol Agents back on the frontlines."

Joining Congressman Tony Gonzales on the delegation were U.S. Representatives Jodey Arrington (TX-19), August Pfluger (TX-11), Ronny Jackson (TX-13), Nathaniel Moran (TX-1), and Brandon Williams (NY-22).

It is evident that the situation at the border demands immediate attention and action. With the facility in Eagle Pass significantly exceeding its capacity, the need for comprehensive immigration reform becomes even more pressing. Congressman Tony Gonzales' call for a strong budget to address the open-borders agenda put forth by the Biden administration highlights the urgency of the matter.
