In a tweet dated March 26, 2025, Casar commented on the actions of House Republicans who “held a hearing to investigate and defund NPR and PBS.” He suggested that, instead, there should be an investigation into former President Trump’s alleged attempts to direct $400 million to Elon Musk's companies, highlighting the discrepancy by stating that the former President was “lying about it.” The tweet is available here.

Later on the same day, Casar criticized Donald Trump for making time for non-essential activities, posting that Trump organized a car show for Elon Musk on the White House lawn while neglecting more serious responsibilities, such as being briefed on the circumstances surrounding the death of four American soldiers.
