Lloyd Doggett, a long-serving U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 37th district, has expressed his views on several pressing political issues through a series of tweets posted on February 13, 2025.

In one tweet, Doggett draws a historical parallel by comparing former President Trump's actions regarding Ukraine to those of Neville Chamberlain's appeasement policy in 1938. He states that "Since Trump declared his intent to pal with Putin, he seems set to engage in the greatest act of appeasement on Ukraine since Neville Chamberlain abandoned Czechoslovakia in 1938." Doggett further asserts that "The GOP will be forever stained as the party that lost Ukraine."

Another tweet focuses on healthcare access in Austin, highlighting the reliance of many families on Medicaid. According to Doggett, "In Austin, Medicaid covers half of all children who receive care at Dell Children's Hospital & half of all births." He criticizes the House GOP's economic plan by saying it "rips away health care access for these children and mothers." Despite this challenge, he reassures that the @HouseBudgetDems will continue their efforts for affordable healthcare.

Lastly, Doggett addresses concerns about scientific research and healthcare standards under Trump's leadership. He argues that Trump is not only cutting research funding but also undermining essential healthcare services. As he mentions in his tweet: "Trump had more than a ‘concept of a plan’ for health care. He’s cutting scientific research, denying hope of a cure for the millions suffering from cancer, Alzheimer’s and other dreaded diseases." Additionally, he accuses GOP supporters of repealing important nursing home staffing standards.
