On January 27, 2025, Doggett commemorated Holocaust Remembrance Day by urging people to remember the lessons of history. He stated: "On Holocaust Remembrance Day—the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, let’s heed the survivors asking we never forget the hatred that led to the genocide of 6 million Jews." He expressed concern over rising antisemitism and recent Nazi salutes.

The following day, January 28, 2025, Doggett criticized former President Trump's decision to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO). He argued that this action would have severe consequences for American public health: "Trump’s withdrawal from the World Health Organization means American families are more likely to get sick from infections abroad and diseases like polio and measles are more likely to return." He described it as a "grave mistake."

Later on January 28, Doggett addressed another policy decision by Trump regarding foreign aid. He specifically mentioned PEPFAR, a program initiated during George Bush's presidency aimed at combating AIDS globally. Doggett remarked: "Trump's disastrous order to stop all foreign aid includes PEPFAR... One of the most successful foreign aid programs in US history." Highlighting its impact, he noted that it has saved millions of lives across numerous countries.
