Congressman Tony Gonzales has issued a statement following a tragic school shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin. Gonzales, who represents Texas's 23rd district and is the Founder and Co-Chair of the Bipartisan School Safety and Security Caucus, expressed his sorrow over the event.

"Today’s school shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Wisconsin is devastating—no parent, family, or community should ever have to experience a tragedy like this. It’s shameful for lawmakers to stand by while mass violence continues to plague school campuses. We need a national strategy to detect and prevent this kind of terrorism from taking place across our nation," said Congressman Tony Gonzales.

The Bipartisan School Safety and Security Caucus aims to overcome partisan divisions in Congress to promote school safety measures. Earlier this year, Gonzales introduced the National Strategy for School Security Act. This legislation mandates that the Department of Homeland Security develops a comprehensive plan aimed at preventing mass shootings on school campuses.
