SAN ANTONIO  — Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran, The Gonzaba Foundation and District 3 staff worked tirelessly on Monday giving out hundreds of turkeys to the local community.

Thanks to the local VFWs, neighborhood associations, churches, food pantries and school districts, the office was able to connect and assist in distributing hundreds of turkeys directly to senior residents, veterans and families.

“This year’s District 3 Turkey Distribution will give so many families the opportunity to enjoy a nice dinner with their loved ones,” the District 3 Councilwoman said. “A warm meal makes the world of a difference. Happy Thanksgiving!”

With the rise of inflation, items can add up while shopping for the holidays. The District 3 office and community organizations in the community are happy bring costs down for families.

“The Gonzaba Foundation is happy to support our older adults and residents in District 3 this Thanksgiving season,” Gonzaba Executive Director Fernanda Contreras said. “Whether it’s turkeys or blankets that we distribute, we know that the need in our community is great, and every little bit helps. Our team does our best to make every holiday special and memorable for our seniors and their families.”

This Wednesday, November 8th at Southside High school, Southside ISD will be hosting its yearly “Feast of Giving”. In this special Southside tradition, the District 3 Office and Southside team will be able to feed thousands of families a warm delicious Thanksgiving meal.

Keep in mind that throughout the City of San Antonio, many organizations are doing what they can to make sure every family enjoys a warm meal with their loved ones.
