In an ongoing effort to provide the highest level of library service, San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) staff will participate in system-wide professional development on Friday, November 3. To accommodate this training, all SAPL locations will open at 2 p.m. on November 3 and close according to each location’s regular schedule.

Staff professional development days will continue quarterly in 2024 according to the schedule below:

  • February 19, 2024 – All day closure for annual Staff Day
  • May 10, 2024 – Libraries will open at 2 p.m.
  • September 13, 2024 – Libraries will open at 2 p.m.
These quarterly training sessions allow staff to engage in continuing education focused on industry best practices and providing exceptional service.

Some services will remain available to library patrons during staff professional development. The Digital Library is available 24/7 at MySAPL.org/digital. Outdoor Wi-Fi at SAPL locations will remain available throughout the day except at Las Palmas and Guerra Branch Libraries, which are currently closed for renovation. Library staff looks forward to welcoming residents back into locations this Friday at 2 p.m.

Early voting hours will be unaffected at San Antonio Public Library locations serving as voting centers during this Friday’s modified service schedule. For information about the elections, visit the Bexar County Elections website.
