There were 465 students enrolled in The Gathering Place schools in the 2021-22 school year, 33.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.6% of them were boys, and 48.4% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 59.1% of the The Gathering Place total enrollment.

The Gathering Place roughly covers schools within Bexar County with its main office in San Antonio.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
