WASHINGTON – On April 14, Congressman Greg Casar (D-Texas) releases the following statement following the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision relating to medication abortion.

“The far-right is weaponizing our court system in their quest for a nationwide total abortion ban,” said Greg Casar (D-Texas). “Medication abortion is how the majority of people get abortion care in this country, and these Trump-appointed judges have used their positions to attack a safe, effective, FDA-approved medication that’s been used for decades.

“Texas women are already traveling hundreds of miles to get the care they need under the state’s total abortion ban. We must protect medication abortion, end all abortion bans, and expand the Supreme Court to protect basic rights. People’s lives and freedoms are being attacked by the far-right, and the Biden Administration and Congress must ensure abortion rights are fully restored across the country.”
