On March 2, 2025, Congressman Casar announced the inaugural direct flight from San Antonio to Washington D.C., marking a significant milestone for Military City, USA. He stated that "Military City, USA was the largest city in the nation without a direct flight to DC — but not after tomorrow’s inaugural flight!" The timing coincides with the Greater San Antonio Chamber's annual SA to DC trip.

The following day, March 3, 2025, Casar commented on the Israeli government's decision regarding aid to Gaza. He criticized the move as collective punishment and emphasized its unacceptability. In his tweet he remarked that "The Israeli government’s decision to block food, medicine, and all other aid from entering Gaza is collective punishment." He further urged both Israel and Hamas to adhere to their January ceasefire agreement.
