Enrollment Analysis: Pacific Islander students comprised 0.1% of South San Antonio ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were seven Pacific Islander students enrolled in South San Antonio ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 16.7% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that South San Antonio ISD schools welcomed 7,872 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

South San Antonio ISD roughly covers schools within Bexar County and has a main office in San Antonio.

Among the 18 schools in South San Antonio ISD schools, Five Palms Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Pacific Islander students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of three students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
