Enrollment Analysis: American Indian students comprised 0.1% of San Antonio ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 56 American Indian students enrolled in San Antonio ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 12% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that San Antonio ISD schools welcomed 45,255 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

San Antonio ISD roughly covers schools within Bexar County and has a main office in San Antonio.

Among the 97 schools in San Antonio ISD schools, Lanier High School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of four students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
