Basis Texas School District Education: 1,248 Hispanic students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,248 Hispanic students enrolled in Basis Texas School District in the 2022-23 school year, 39.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Basis Texas School District welcomed 4,972 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 25.1% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Basis Texas School District roughly covers schools within Bexar County and has a main office in San Antonio.

Among the 12 schools in Basis Texas School District, Basis San Antonio- Shavano Campus recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 304 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
