San Antonio’s Westside Development Corp. (WDC) has a new president and CEO.
Ramiro Gonzales, a managing partner in real estate investment group Urban Lazarus Partners and member of multiple local boards, had been serving as the interim CEO since February. Shortly after he was thrown into leading the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic, wherein they quickly pivoted to offering small business grants, according to a WDC release.
Since then, the organization established a small business helpline that has served over 600 local businesses, directed small business owners to more than $1.3 million in grants from Bexar County, and assisted hundreds of businesses with making use of the federal government’s Paycheck Protection Program.
Gonzales also has 15 years of experience working for the City of San Antonio and assisted in the spending of $80 million toward urban redevelopment projects with the Center City Development and Operations Department.
