A recent survey of small, San Antonio businesses – including some run by individuals who are self-employed or have fewer than four employees – showed the overwhelming majority suffered economic losses due to COVID-19.

According to the San Antonio Business Journal, the Launch SA survey showed losses exceeding 10% of revenue for 90 of the 100 businesses they surveyed between mid-April and mid-May. Businesses reported needing financial assistance with handling debt, covering basic operational costs, and paying employees.

However, most also indicated that as little as $10,000 in assistance would keep them running.

While there are no funding programs listed on the Launch SA website, the organization offers a variety of training and mentorship programs. The Business Journal noted that a number of business owners completing the Launch SA survey checked off training as a service they would be interested in.
