Rep. Tony Gonzales Supports Passage of Legislation to Unleash American Energy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives with Congressman Tony Gonzales’ (TX-23) support. The legislation aims to lift restrictions on natural gas imports and exports while also prohibiting trade with individuals or foreign countries under sanction or listed as state sponsors of terrorism.

In response to the bill's passage, Congressman Gonzales expressed his support and highlighted the significance of the legislation. "I’m proud to represent West Texas in Congress. This region is a global powerhouse for oil and gas, despite the Biden administration’s continued attempts to undermine its growth," stated Congressman Tony Gonzales. He emphasized that the approval of the pro-energy legislation marks a crucial step in opposing the Green New Deal agenda and fortifying the nation's energy security.

Gonzales also underscored the broader implications of the bill, stating, "If nations across the world can rely on American energy, they can rely less on our adversaries." The passage of the Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act is viewed as a move towards promoting American energy independence and reducing dependence on foreign sources.

The legislation represents a significant development in the energy sector and reflects efforts to unleash America's energy potential while safeguarding national interests.
