Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) cast his vote today for the final passage of a five-year Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization package. This legislation, under federal law, places limitations on direct flights to and from Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) to a perimeter of 1,250 miles outside the airport unless an exception is made by the federal government. The legislation includes a provision that will add 10 slot exemptions for DCA, positioning San Antonio International Airport to secure a direct flight to Washington, D.C.
