U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers arrested at least 15 criminal illegal aliens with convictions for capital murder, child sex offenses, kidnapping, and assaults. The actions targeted public safety threats as part of the Making America Safe Again initiative.
The arrests included Miguel Solis-Martinez, a Honduran national, convicted of capital murder in Bexar County, Texas. The announcement released by the Department of Homeland Security on May 11 showed ICE carried out the operation over Mother’s Day.
Texas Department of Public Safety records show that more than 335,000 illegal noncitizens were booked into local jails statewide between June 2011 and April 2026. These records list more than 599,000 criminal charges and more than 226,000 convictions associated with those bookings.
ICE announced in April that its Houston office arrested 277 illegal aliens during a two-week enforcement operation. The agency said those arrested had been convicted of a combined 751 offenses, including crimes involving children, homicide, drug trafficking, and assault.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was established in 2003 as part of the Department of Homeland Security. The agency conducts criminal investigations and immigration enforcement activities such as arrest, detention, and removal operations through its Enforcement and Removal Operations division, according to its website.
