School of Science and Technology welcomed 4,315 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 4,315 students enrolled in School of Science and Technology in the 2022-23 school year, 8.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 54.3% of them were boys, and 45.7% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 51.5% of the School of Science and Technology total enrollment.

School of Science and Technology roughly covers schools within Bexar County with its main office in San Antonio.

Among the seven schools in School of Science and Technology, School of Science and Technology Champions recorded the highest enrollment of 1,283 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
