SAN ANTONIO — National Energy Efficiency Day is October 4, 2023, as proclaimed by Mayor Ron Nirenberg and the San Antonio City Council. In recognition of this, the City of San Antonio’s Office of Sustainability will be joining regional and national organizations, businesses, utilities, universities, and individuals in promoting energy efficiency – the quickest and cleanest way to meet the energy needs of San Antonio residents, reduce pollution, protect the planet and reduce utility bills for residents and businesses.

Residents can participate in National Energy Efficiency Day by:

  • Making the switch to LED bulbs
  • Turning off electronics not in use
  • Sealing leaks around doors and windows
  • Cleaning and changing your furnace filters regularly
  • Setting thermostats 2-3 degrees higher in the summer and 2-3 degrees lower in the winter
Visit SAClimateReady.org to learn how to improve the energy efficiency of your home and get involved with other sustainable initiatives.
