Rep. Chip Roy Press Office published a series of statements on April 2, 2026, highlighting concerns about national security, public safety, and the role of government officials.

In a post at 15:47 UTC, Rep. Roy stated: “Republicans need to wake up right now and say, we’ve got to save the country. Islam is marching across our country, criminals on our streets, our borders still are under assault. We have people in this country who are not supposed to be here. We’ve got to deliver.”

Later that day at 16:51 UTC, his office wrote: ” NEW: Rep. Roy demands answers from Travis County DA on criminals running loose on the streets of Austin. It’s time elected officials put public safety over criminal leniency. @DailyCaller”

At 19:03 UTC, Rep. Roy added: “We need heads to roll and an active Department of Justice to preserve our country. So that’s what I expect out of the President’s nominee.” @FoxNews

Chip Roy is currently serving in the U.S. Congress as the representative for Texas’ 21st district, a position he has held since replacing Lamar Smith in 2019 (FACTS 5 and 6). He has consistently secured re-election victories against Democratic challengers since his initial win in 2018 (FACTS 1-4).
