Rep. Chip Roy Press Office has used social media to address concerns about immigration policy, the U visa program, and national security in a series of posts made on May 5 and 6, 2026.

On May 5, Rep. Roy stated, “We need to make sure we’re protecting American workers. Make sure American citizens have a shot at jobs. Stop importing people here who don’t share our values.” @bennyjohnson.

The following day, the office addressed issues with the U visa program: “The U visa program isn’t working—it’s being exploited. Rep. Roy’s End U Visa Abuse Act would end the abuse by repealing it, which would curb incentives for illegal immigration and reinforce the rule of law.”

Later on May 6, another post read: “We’ve imported 5.5 million people into the United States from majority Muslim countries since 9/11. That’s a suicide pact. That’s just stupid.”

Chip Roy is currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 21st district and has held this position since replacing Lamar Smith in 2019 (FACTS 5 & 6). He has maintained electoral success over multiple cycles, defeating Kristin Hook in 2024 with nearly 62% of the vote (FACT 1), Claudia Zapata in 2022 (FACT 2), Wendy Davis in 2020 (FACT 3), and Joseph Kopser in his initial election win in 2018 (FACT 4).
