Representative Chip Roy, currently serving Texas’s 21st District in the U.S. Congress, used his official press office account to comment on border security and immigration policy on July 15, 2025. The posts addressed human smuggling enforcement efforts, legislative proposals targeting Temporary Protected Status (TPS) abuse, and media coverage of these topics.

In a tweet posted at 13:24 UTC, the press office stated, “A single foreign national responsible for smuggling THOUSANDS of illegal aliens into the U.S. Thank you, @HSI_SanAntonio for ending human smuggling networks.”

At 13:53 UTC the same day, another post read: ” Previous administrations abused ‘Temporary’ Protected Status to make it ‘amnesty-lite’ for illegal aliens. Rep. Roy’s bill, H.R. 4201, the TPS Reform Act, would END TPS abuse.”

Shortly after, at 13:54 UTC, the press office tweeted: “MORE FROM @Virginia_Allen5 at @DailySignal:” with a link to further reporting.

Chip Roy has represented Texas’s 21st District since 2019 after succeeding Lamar Smith. Born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972 and now residing in Austin, Roy holds a BS from the University of Virginia and a JD from the University of Texas-Austin.
